Moccona Special
This exquisite coffee from the Netherlands has a long history of commitment to excellence
Whenever it feels the world is moving too fast, it’s good to pause for a while. Take a deep breath, and brew yourself a mug of hot Moccona coffee. Have a sip, and let its rich, reassuring flavour wash over you. Enjoy the peace for a moment.
If you’re looking for a strong, comforting brew to help you find yourself, Moccona is the choice for you. Its intense flavour and evocative aroma clears your mind and lifts your spirits, resulting in a truly elevated coffee experience.
Moccona is made from two of the world’s finest coffee beans: the Arabica and the Robusta. The Arabica is beloved for its fruity notes, and how it infuses any drink it is added to with a pleasurable acidity. The Robusta, on the other hand, is known for its robust earthiness. Combine the two, and the result is coffee truly brimming with character. The blend is also certified halal under the Total Quality Halal Correct Certification (TQHCC).

Moccona is a global brand today, and it’s hard to believe it came from humble beginnings. The blend goes back to the Netherlands in 1753, where a trader named Egbert Douwes established a grocery shop in his hometown of Joure. One of the products he sold was Java-grown coffee.
This coffee proved popular, and Douwes’ shop soon expanded into a coffee and tea emporium. His blend was so beloved that in 1925, it was awarded an official seal of excellence, the Douwe Egberts Red Seal logo. This can still be seen on their coffee jars today.
The official Moccona brand was launched soon after. It took the world by storm, rapidly establishing itself as a household name and supermarket favourite. Its distinctive packaging and striking gold labels helped it stand out strongly against the competition. Today, Moccona is loved and enjoyed worldwide.
Each flavour of Moccona is marked with a number: the higher this is, the higher its roasting intensity. A well-rounded, balanced flavour of 5 indicates a Medium Roast, 8 is a Dark Roast with an earthy, warm and aromatic flavour, while the big bold flavour of 10 marks Espresso Style with the intensity of a good Italian Espresso. The other variants of Moccona include Moccona Indulgence (8), Moccona Classic Decaffeinated (5) and Moccona with a hint of natural Hazelnut Swirl. Whether you prefer your drink mellow or with a powerful kick, Moccona has something you can enjoy. Crafting a truly personalised coffee experience has never been easier.
