Christmas traditions may vary from country to country (Americans leave milk and cookies for Santa while Australians pour a cold pint for Saint Nicholas) or household to household, but regardless of personal preferences, everyone can agree on this: a happy home is one stocked with tasty treats

1. Amazin' Graze

Amazin' Graze was one of the first local makers to announce its 2020 Holiday collection (as early as mid-October!) and the line-up does not disappoint. The brand's best-selling crunchy brownie chips are now available in a festive flavour (cherry peppermint) and there's also a new kind of granola (white chocolate cranberry) on top of chocolate-coated almonds and strawberries. Synonymous with guilt-free snacking, the company has also launched a Festive Nut Butter Box, because the only thing better than a jar of nut butter is eight jars.

2. Fin KL

No longer just for poke bowls, Fin KL at Solaris Dutamas has rolled out a few seasonal specialities, including respectfully 'masked' gingerbread men and women and a Christmas Grazing Box. The second of these includes a whole slew of goodies, including chickpea falafel, house-smoked beetroot salmon, cheddar and rosemary shortbread, fresh fruit, roasted nuts, crudités and dips, and a small wheel of cheese to go with crackers. Complete your grazing box with your choice of beverage (cocktails, kombucha, coffee, tea or chocolate) and contact the team if you're keen on customisation.

TATLER TIP: Fin's 'honest Christmas cards' come with a healthy dose of sass. Add one to your order to give the recipient a chuckle.

3. Birch and Huckleberry

Catering to differing tastes under one roof, sister cafés Birch and Huckleberry have announced an especially extensive Christmas spread comprised of cookies, cupcakes, Yule Logs (choose between Blackforest or Chocolate & Orange), stollen (with or without marzipan), mince pies, and much more.

"Gifting plays an especially big part of Christmas this year and we are well-known for our festive classics," enthused Nikola Hassan, spokesperson for the restaurants. "We’ve collaborated with local brands on limited edition giftware ranging from candles to tote bags—a curated range of well-designed products that we feel our clientele will appreciate. It’s been a conscious effort on our part to engage with small businesses and support homegrown brands, some of whose founders are regulars at our cafés."

4. Kami Design

We first met the ladies of Kami Design when interviewing them about their bespoke wedding stationery. Little did either party realise that our next encounter would branch into food.

"We are constantly surrounded by change as we move from one season to another," commented cofounder Jillian Tan. "Whether we’re pouring our creativity into a piece of paper or baking up a storm in the kitchen, to us it is all worthwhile when there is an outlet to express ourselves and continue to do what we love."

True to Kami Design's core values, each cookie box is beautifully presented in floral wrapping paper, which the customer can choose at check-out, and comes with a personalised card with gold calligraphy.

TATLER TIP: To ensure optimum freshness, Kami Design's cookies are baked every Thursday and Friday and delivered on Saturday, so place your orders by Wednesday latest.

5. Lushbowl

Can't consume wheat or dairy without feeling sorry for yourself after? Here's pointing you in the right direction of allergen-free Christmas cookies.

"Our baked goods counter usually sees at least one keto or gluten-free treat and everything is made in-house," said founder Siew Suet Sim, who has tirelessly gone through several rounds of revision to perfect Lushbowl's two types of Christmas cookies.

We are happy to report that both are no less tasty than the average cookie. The first, a vegetarian cookie with a smoother surface, comes with a cakier texture, whereas the vegan cookie is dense and downright delicious. Both are studded with pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, and premium Callebaut dark chocolate chips.

6. Universal Bakehouse

Known for its creative campaigns (such as hiding golden tickets in sourdough loaves) and creations (try the Brookie, a hybrid brownie-cookie), this bakery attached to Table & Apron has gone into full holiday mode.

Place your orders for Universal Bakehouse's decadent pies (we've got our eye on the Baileys chocolate) and cookie tins chock full of melty Meringue Kisses, spiced Gingerbread, jammy Raspberry Thumbprints and other bite-sized delights. In the true spirit of Christmas, the bakery will direct 10 per cent of its holiday profits to Shelter, a Malaysian NGO.

UPDATE: Due to overwhelming response, new orders will only be fulfilled if there are cancellations.
