The Sai Ying Pun-based culinary platform curates private dining offerings in a home setting this summer in response to ongoing dine-in restrictions in Hong Kong

This summer, in the face of a pandemic and dine-in bans across the city, Sai Ying Pun’s Test Kitchen is launching a new concept for food lovers. Test Kitchen's new "Chef’s Table Home" concept brings three up-and-coming local chefs and tasting menus direct to your home—private chef style. Clients can book meals created by chefs such as Ching Tso, formerly sous chef on the opening team at Shane Osborn’s Arcane. Ching offers a contemporary French menu with Korean touches, featuring highlights such as homemade Deonjang sourdough bread and yukhoe beef tartare, followed by suckling pig with kimchi, shiso, and garlic puree as main course. The five-course menu is priced at HK$1,280 per person.

Patissier-trained chef Jimmy Wai channels his expertise in pastry and savoury cooking through his previous tenures at Aberdeen Street Social and Arbor as he presents a six-course contemporary French tasting menu. Wai’s French seasonal menu is priced at HK$1,380 per person.

For a unique Japanese omakase experience at home, chef Tomiya Yu of Mizutani at Alva Hotel brings a choice of two set menus to the home. The omakase menu showcases the season’s best with a selection of appetisers, sushi, mains, and desserts. Prices range from HK$1,500 to HK$2,000 per person.
