Matching their 2012 vintages with the inimitable art of Chinese contemporary artist Yue MinjunThibault Pontallier and Arthur de Villepin begin to write a new chapter in their story of wine and art.

Although their previous artist Zao Wou-ki was the perfect bridge between France and China, expressing both countries through his extraordinary paintings, his passing last year spurred Pontallier and Villepin to discover an artist representing China’s new generation.

As a leading figure of contemporary art in China and an avid wine lover, Yue Minjun was the perfect partner for the upcoming collaboration. Best known for his idiosyncratic smiling faces, some of the artist’s lesser-known works will be printed onto labels for Pont des Arts’ Sauvignon Blanc, Rive Droite, Lalande-de-Pomerol, Côte de Nuits-Villages, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Meursault, all created by Pontallier and his legendary winemaking father Paul Pontallier.
