Along with the start of the new season, social distancing rules in Hong Kong has recently been eased to allow groups of up to four people to gather in public spaces. With this in mind, what better way is there then to spend your weekend picnicking with friends? But we’re not talking warm wine and lack-lustre snacks––in Hong Kong there are an array of luxurious picnic baskets available, which can all easily be ordered online and delivered to your chosen destination. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong

Promising a luxurious spread, the Ritz-Carlton’s picnic basket features everything you need for an unforgettable outdoor dining experience.
 
The basket is available for two (HK$788) or four people (HK$1,488) and features a range of cold cuts and dips, freshly baked breads and pastries and a choice of beverages. To elevate your picnic further, add-ons such as Prunier caviar, Iberico ham, Veuve Clicquot Champagne and even a butler service can be requested. The hamper is available for takeaway from the hotel, or complimentary delivery and set up at the West Kowloon Nursery Park can also be arranged, along with delivery to other areas of Hong Kong at an additional charge.
 
For those looking for a unique staycation, the picnic basket is also included as part of the hotel’s new pet-friendly package.

Rajasthan Rifles

Want to picnic atop the city at Victoria Peak Gardens? Well, Black Sheep’s Anglo-Indian restaurant, Rajasthan Rifles, lets you do just that.
 
Taking all of the fuss away from picnicking, the Picnic on the Peak basket is available every day from 12pm to 6pm, and comes inclusive of blankets, enamel flatware and a flask––so you only need to bring your appetite. Designed for two people, the basket is priced at HK$488 and features the Rajasthan Rifles Club Sandwich, seasonal fruits and clotted cream, chocolate brownies, nimbu soda and more.

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

The Mandarin Oriental offers a range of gourmet food and drinks packages for takeaway––including everything from a curry combo from The Chinnery, to a beef Wellington for four and individual dishes––along with a specially designed picnic basket.
 
Priced at HK$1,488, the basket is full with picnic must-haves such as scotch eggs, pork pies and cold cuts, along with a selection of salads, mains and desserts from the Mandarin Cake Shop.

If it’s cheese and wine you’re after, Classified’s hampers are the perfect choice for your next picnic.
 
Three different hamper are available––each one full to the brim with a selection of cheese from Les Frères Marchand and premium wines. Prices range between HK$788 and HK$1,888, with each hamper containing two bottles of wine, at least five different cheeses and an array of accompaniments such as quince paste and crostinis.

Going all out to cater for every picnickers needs, Invisible Kitchen offers a range of baskets and hampers for al fresco dining.
 
Arriving in a classic wicker basket, choose from the seven-course picnic menu (HK$395 per person), the family picnic hamper (HK$1,220) or the two person basket (HK$1,190, including Champagne), with vegetarian options also available.
