Pick treats over tricks and give these recipes a go
With Halloween just around the corner, we’ve compiled five of our favourite spooky snacks that you’ll definitely want to devour. We’ve tried adding a few to the mix that aren’t laden with too much fondant and food colouring. From an intricate grazing platter to an autumnal pumpkin pie, these desserts will inspire you to host a Halloween party.
1. Ghost Sugar Cookies
Elevate your favourite sugar cookies with some ghoulish white royal icing. Mackinzie’s Spooky Ghost Cookies on Delish are to die for; they look nearly too perfect to eat. She recommends piping the royal icing around the edges of the cookie first, then filling in the centre afterwards.
If you’re a fan of chocolate, this other recipe for ghost cookies on Food Network uses chocolate chips for each ghoul's eyes and teaches you to make royal icing from scratch. Don’t fret if you can’t find a ghost-shaped cookie cutter (not exactly your typical pantry staple), as you can use cardboard to cut out the silhouette and trace around it onto your dough with a sharp knife.
