While Man Wah is under renovation, the hotel has found a new way to offer weekly dim sum—with a pop-up

While Man Wah undergoes a six-month-long renovation—the restaurant is scheduled to reopen in January 2021—dim sum fans won't be left wanting. The Mandarin Oriental will set up a pop-up, located at the hotel’s Small Connaught Room, where guests can savour chef Wong Wing-Keung’s Cantonese creations, albeit in very different surroundings.

From August 8, the hotel’s event space will be transformed into Yum Cha by Man Wah, a dim sum pop-up that will operate on weekends only. Chef Wong Wing-Keung will present a limited menu featuring steamed and deep fried dim sum such as har gau with tiger prawns and bamboo shoots; crabmeat dumplings with black truffle and vegetables; and taro and scallop puffs. Man Wah’s best-selling barbecue Iberian pork loin with longan honey and noodles are among the a la carte options at the pop-up. The Yum Cha by Man Wah experience is available from 11:30am to 3:00pm Saturdays and Sundays. For the full menu please see the Mandarin Oriental website.
