I myself have never understood non-foodies. How can one not love flavours, spices, aromas and all the cultural nuances and memories that come with every bite? Dining is an experience meant to be savoured and is even more fun when shared with loved ones. Dining around a table means sharing, conversing, bonding and learning. A dish can tell you so much about a person, a culture, and a country. It speaks volumes of a nation's history and is an art form on its own. Skilled hands are trained over years or are born out of pure passion and practice. Professional chefs and home cooks alike, from young stars to grandmothers, have been cooking up meals filled with emotion and have truly made us foodies, happy.

Through Foodie Finds, we ask our epicurean friends to share their favourites. In this feature, we tackle takeout and delivery. Hear what Iza Calzado (actress, WWF Ambassador, co-founder of She Talks Asia) and husband Ben Wintle (founder and CEO of Booky) have to say. The Wholesome Table


This is a great spot for healthy, nutritious food. We treat Wholesome like our second kitchen! We like to order: chicken dukkah salad, mie goreng (I like mine with vegetable noodles), torched salmon bowl, Moroccan chicken bowl, Thai rice bowl (which you can use cauliflower rice with), and their truffle pasta. For some sweets, we love their gluten-free and refined sugar-free baked goods. Try out their carrot or chocolate cake and Wholesome Table’s cookies too.

We love Thai food and Benjarong is the most authentic Thai food in town. We love their duck leg curry, 72-hour beef short rib curry, fresh spring rolls with chicken and of course, the pad thai!

Mantra Bistro


Our favourite Indian restaurant is Mantra. Part of their winning formula is surely due to the fact that the owner Ranjit is always there. Order their chicken tikka masala, prawn curry or palak paneer for a spectacular meal!

Crosta Pizzeria

Pizza made with a sourdough crust! What’s not to love? It doesn’t make us feel so bloated after, so it is our favourite weekend indulgence! We love their ECQ special, Shroomed Out, or Pork You pizza.

Eat Matters


Chef Isi Laureano can create healthy and delicious food that caters to your lifestyle. She helped me with my nutrition during my stay in our work bubble in 2020 and earlier this year too. We also regularly order from her for our home. Our favourites are: vegan chilli, pulled pork lasagna, chicken in salsa monja, organic chicken tocino and her atchara, which she makes on her own! She also has other homemade condiments under another brand called Chili Asylum.

Hermanas Kitchen


Venisse and Gela Laurel’s baked goodies are truly delectable! We can’t get enough of their chocolate chip or white chocolate with macadamia nuts cookies!

Judy Ann Santos pours her heart and soul into everything she does, may it be acting in front of the camera, or cooking dishes for loved ones. Luckily, we can all experience this through her business Angrydobo. Order the chicken thighs with laing or pork belly with laing!

Grace Park

I have always been a fan of Chef Gaita Forés and this farm to table concept restaurant of hers is my favourite. Locally sourced produce paired with Gaita’s world class talent makes for a sure win! I love ordering the lamb adobo, carabao butter organic chicken, and the peanut crusted halibut.
