Main St. Deli at The Langham in Tsim Sha Tsui hosts a hot dog eating contest
Although more popular in the United States and Japan, The Langham’s Main St. Deli is bringing a spot of competitive eating to Hong Kong in celebration of American Independence Day. On July 4, the deli is inviting teams of two to compete in their mammoth 40-piece hot dog race. Teams who manage to finish 40 hot dogs within 10 minutes will receive a HK$1,000 dining voucher and have their contest entrance fee waived. Furthermore, the team with the fastest time will not only win the aforementioned prizes but also win a one night stay at The Langham and a bottle of champagne. The contest is open from 11am to 9pm and is priced at HK$776 per team. Participants are requested to reserve their places 48 hours in advance.
