We share our picks for the best al fresco restaurants and rooftop bars in Hong Kong

La Rambla

Spanish restaurant and bar, La Rambla, boasts a sprawling terrace overlooking Victoria Harbour. Ideal for after work drinks, the wine list is a fun read focusing on Spain’s underrated grapes and regions, while the spirits selection features gins from around the world and a dedicated martini menu.

Terrible Baby

One of Kowloon's best rooftop bars is located at the Eaton Hotel in Jordan, which has become a cult favourite for its expansive terrace, live music programme and irreverent cocktail list.

Located at the top of H Queen's, this whimsical rooftop bar is all about the fun vibes and refreshing libations.

Sevva is still one of Hong Kong's most popular rooftop bars, and its recent renovation at the end of 2019 means it has a fresh lease on life. The Taste bar restores glitz and glamour with a bar area that doubles as venue for private functions, serving a collection of fine wines, champagne, classic, and signature cocktails. The refurbished terrace overlooks the city’s skyline.

Skye Rooftop Bar

This vibrant restaurant and bar on the 27th floor of The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel, totals 8,000 sq ft that includes three private rooms a large ourdoor deck with an illuminated bar, where impressive cocktails and a menu of old and new world wines can be enjoyed.

We love Duddell's leafy terrace for its lush tropical plants, mismatched lawn furniture and great cocktails. Not to mention their weekend brunch—which includes free-flowing premium dim sum and champagne—is one of the best in Hong Kong.

At Limewood, you'll always feel like you're on a mini holiday. Their pina coladas are served in a young coconut and they also do this barbecued pineapple mojito that tastes like summer in a glass—when we have them along with the fish tacos, while facing the beach, it’s the best way to spend an afternoon.

The Pool at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Quite often, there's nothing better than heading to the pool side at the Grand Hyatt if we want to sneak away for some sunshine in the city on weekdays.

When it comes to rooftop bars, Wooloomooloo is one of the best in the city. It has sweeping views, a friendly waitstaff and great happy hour deals.

Sugar is one of our favourite chill-out spots for happy hour drinks and late-night gatherings. Located at the top of East Hotel in Taikoo, it has a different vibe than those in bustling districts like Central and Tsim Sha Tsui. The spacious terrace is where you can enjoy unique harbour views from the eastern side of Hong Kong.
