The flaky treat will hit shelves of the Harbour City pastry shop with a unique flavour

Created in 2013 and soon takingen the world by storm, pastry chef Dominique Ansel’s original cronut is finally making a debut in Hong Kong. From May 22 to June 7, Dang Wen Li will launch an exclusive two-week Cronut pop-up featuring the celebrated pastry with a never-before-seen flavour specially designed for the event, despite having previously mentioned that the Cronut was not going to be available in Hong Kong.

Following a strong opening collection of ethereal pastries inspired by Hong Kong’s local treats, the pastry shop at Harbour City is returning to Ansel’s roots with the launch of the original Cronut. The new Cronut pop-up is set to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the pastry creation Ansel debuted in his Soho New York City pastry shop. The Hong Kong exclusive will be a  lychee and jasmine Cronut, where the multi-layered buttery pastry will be filled with lychee jam and jasmine-infused ganache. The Hong Kong-exclusive cronut is limited in quantity and is available only at Dang Wen Li shop starting on Friday, May 22, 2020.
