The bakery-cafe will present five new desserts inspired by the award-winning pastry chef’s favourite holiday destinations

As travel continues to remains a distant dream, it’s no surprise that brands are finding creative ways to take us on a journey—and the latest contender is doing it through the medium of sweets. Dominique Ansel, award-winning pastry chef and creator of the famed Cronut, is bringing his fantasy travel line-up to Dang Wen Li, his Hong Kong boutique, with five new desserts inspired by different countries.

Launching on Friday 26 March, the pastries will be available through to early summer at both branches of Dang Wen Li in Harbour City and Central's IFC mall. To celebrate the new collection, the team have also launched a limited-edition Around The World “passport” that can be stamped each time you purchase a pastry—collect eight and you’ll be able to redeem a takeaway small pastry as a reward. For takeaway orders, the pastries can be packaged in a special suitcase-style gift box.

“I’m so excited for Hong Kong to try our Around The World pastry collection and take a trip around the world through desserts,” says Ansel. “As we look forward to the year ahead, I can’t wait for the days when we’re able to travel again. I know my first stop will be visiting Hong Kong and seeing friends and family over some dim sum.”
