It has been a decade since Café Malacca opened its doors at Hotel Jen on Hong Kong Island, offering authentic Malaysian and Singapore hawker-style fare

From day one, the quality at Café Malacca has remained consistently top-notch and the restaurant is known by its discerning diners to be one of the best in the city.

The extensive menu offers flavoursome dishes from regions such as Penang, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore reflecting the melting pot of cultures along the Straits of Malacca, including Malay, Chinese and Indian.

Patrons are invited to savour the Singapore and Penang laksa, and flame-grilled satay skewers, as well as the beef, chicken and fish curries with roti. For something extra special, chilli and black pepper crab can be ordered ahead.

Balancing the aromatic tangy, spicy and herbal flavours that make up the region’s cuisine, essential ingredients are imported from Malaysia and Singapore to ensure that there is no compromise on authenticity, quality and taste. The team has also travelled to Malaysia and Singapore to learn from the best and garner ideas for new and inspired dishes.

For all these reasons, it is not surprising that Café Malacca has been recognised by many over the past decade, earning itself local and international accolades, and now looks to continue this for the next 10 years.
