Organise a small road trip down south for a cool, little getaway in Tagaytay City

Tagaytay City is easily everyone’s go-to destination south of Metro Manila, especially if they’re aching to cool off or simply escape the urban bustle. Although most travellers visit Tagaytay for its refreshing scenery, there are a few other activities to do other than stand by the cliff overlooking the Taal Volcano.

Read more below to find out how else you can make your visit worthwhile whether you plan on staying for the weekend or passing by:

1. La Creperie

There are various La Creperie branches in and outside the metro, but you might want to have brunch at the cafe in Tagaytay if you're looking for a French-like experience or simply aching to unwind at the weekend. The spacious La Creperie Twin Lakes has a fantastic view of Taal Lake which you'll enjoy while having a crepe and a hot cup of drink alfresco.

2. Breakfast at Antonio's

There’s a little blue house along the Emilio Aguinaldo highway called Breakfast at Antonio’s that customers frequent either during mornings, noon, or evenings. Apart from the fantastic breakfast selections that will leave anyone drooling, the restaurant is warmly styled to make you feel cosy.

3. Veranda

Taal Vista Hotel's in-house restaurant, Veranda, has a delightful selection of dishes, a wonderful view, and fresh air. Their menu has both Filipino and international choices that you can enjoy while dining alfresco. You may choose to be seated by the edge while you breathe in the majestic Taal Lake. Otherwise, you may choose to lounge by the lawn with an equally captivating sight of the lake.

4. Bag of Beans

You can never go wrong with Bag of Beans, a cafe and restaurant that serves hearty meals so appetising they had to make two separate branches within Tagaytay (both of which are often visited by a flock of tourists and locals). But what you don’t want to miss out on from this place is their Shepherd’s pie, cakes, and other pastries paired with a fresh cup of coffee.

5. Tsokolateria Artisanal Cafe

You'd be amazed at how much one can do with chocolate at the Tsokolateria Artisanal Cafe. This must-visit cafe in Tagaytay City along Emilio Aguinaldo Highway pairs bittersweet chocolate with champorado, churros, salad and more. They also serve everything you might ever want for brunch, from pancake soufflé to longganisa. Of course, your meal wouldn't be complete without their authentic hot chocolate which you'll enjoy while taking in the view.
