The two brands are bringing an absorptive handcrafted experience of crafting workshops, artisanal desserts and gift customisation to you in their Ion Experience Store at the end of August

Sharing their love and expertise in providing a bespoke and custom-built experience for their customers, it's a match made in heaven for homegrown brands, experiential gifting concept label Bynd Artisan and dessert cafe Sunday Folks, as they work together to curate a combined experience of retail and café vibes and to facilitate an immersive getaway from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

This unique lifestyle escapade invites guests to customise and personalise a well-appointed, handmade leather-and-paper gift, to pick up a new skill at a crafting workshop and to also try some seasonal artisanal desserts such as the Marrakesh Ice Cream Petit Gâteaux and speciality coffee by Sunday Folks at their new Ion Experience store.

You can expect to find the experiential space with an all-new interior as designed by Dennis Cheok from spatial design studio Upstairs_ and The Design Vault's Li Zi Qi, where guests can feel comfortable and right at home with its soft lighting, wood-textured hues and tactile surfaces.

The multi-sensory space is intentionally framed by their hand-grinder copper wall and features a gallery-inspired product display of leather-bound books to evoke a feeling of serenity and awe which is further enhanced by a curated playlist.

There will also be a "Gratitude Corner" in the store, where guests are invited to take a moment to ruminate and reflect about what makes them happy, and they can illuminate others in the community by writing down their thoughts in the guest book.

Another interesting feature to look out for is the handmade Shibui Furniture benches that were exclusively co-designed by the furniture brand's in-house designer Kim Choy and Sunday Folks. These warm-toned benches are made with locally harvested Angsana, paired with sugar-maple legs and completed with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil, which compliments the entire soothing, natural and minimalist aesthetic of the store.

You can also find inspiration and motivation on their placemats and coasters that will showcase a few of the founders' favourite quotes and song lyrics in print and calligraphy by The Letter J Supply, and guests will have the chance to check out the launch of the limited-edition "That Sunday Feeling" Notebook that has been repurposed from Bynd Artisan's notebook, emphasising their apposite collaboration once again.

The featured coasters that beverages will be served on are created from recycled food pulp paper and aesthetically presents quotes intended to uplift and bring joy to guests. Customers can bring them home as little tokens or purchase them in more colours as a gift from the store.

Bynd Artisan takes it a step further with specially-designed leather sleeves for the store's glass carafes in which brewed coffee will be served, creating a luxurious vibe where guests will be taken away by the natural leather smells and earthy aesthetic.

At this Experience store, every detail matters and the presentation and feel of the space are top on their list. Even though both brands strive to maintain their own unique and distinct characteristics, they believe that their collaboration perfectly compliments each other and brings out the best in both of their expertise and company philosophies, which is to take on a more elegant and refined approach to modern luxury and to champion quality over quantity.

"This collaboration showcases the evolution of both brands," says Winnie Chan, co-founder of Bynd Artisan. "Both of us started in 2014 and turned seven this year. We have been neighbours for a long time and we share the same ethos about our crafts and doing things well. We have a joint vision for this Experience Store to be a space where traditional craftsmanship and contemporary culture meet to create new originality with sensory appeals for customers of both brands."

The Experience store is slated to be open in the second half of August and will be located on the fourth floor of Ion Orchard.
