The local restaurant group’s 15th establishment is inspired by the rich culinary heritage of post-colonial Pakistan and India

After a successful launch of Le Petit Saigon earlier this summer, Black Sheep Restaurants is returning to Central with the opening of New Punjab Club, the organisation’s 15th restaurant.

Set to open mid-August this year, the new establishment will take space on Central’s Wyndham Street. New Punjab Club is a personal project of Syed Asim Hussain, co-founder of the restaurant group and proud Punjabi himself. The new restaurant pays homage to the original Punjab Club, an athletic club where Hussain spent his childhood. It’s also a tribute to his father, owner of Hong Kong’s 80s hotspot The Mughal Room.

Designed by Sean Dix and seating 40 guests, the new Wyndham Street address will bring new interpretations of traditional Punjab classics, including items prepared from tandoor ovens which are restored from the original Mughal Room at the new restaurant.

New Punjab Club is tentatively opening mid-August, 2017. Watch this space as we bring you the latest updates on this project.
