The restaurant group’s new steakhouse concept aims to bring Argentinian beef to Hong Kong, with vermouth cocktails to match

Taking after the success of Maison Libanaise and chef James Henry’s Belon, Black Sheep Restaurants is opening its third new concept this spring. The group’s latest concept, Buenos Aires Polo Club, will take over the space that formerly housed the group’s Boqueria. This new steakhouse will be serving Argentinian steaks with vermouth cocktails to match.

The restaurant draws inspiration from the South American country’s elite members-only clubs in the early 1900s. To embrace a sense of sophisticated elegance, the rich wooden interior of the main floor space — together with semi-private and private dining rooms — are complete with vintage equestrian antiques and steak knives.

The kitchen of Buenos Aires Polo Club will be helmed by executive chef Felipe Lopez, where he designs an Argentinian beef-rich menu showcasing steak and other meats grilled in traditional asado format. The restaurant will also be offering a rich array of Argentine wines, as well as a rich cocktail programmes and a vast selection of vermouths.

Buenos Aires Polo Club is tentatively opening in mid-May 2016.
