The local restaurant group’s first Greek taverna sets sights on opening in the Star Street Precinct this autumn

After opening Fukuro and debuting Canton Disco in Shanghai, Black Sheep Restaurants continues its launch of new restaurants this season. Next up is Artemis and Apollo, the group’s first foray into Greek cuisine. Celebrating the unique taste of the Mediterranean, the new taverna concept will highlight a taste of Greek classics.

Taking a restaurant space on Moon Street, Artemis and Apollo join a neighbourhood of great dining options, from the group’s own Le Garcon Saigon to Francis and Madame Ching. The new establishment will feature interiors designed by Sean Dix, featuring whitewashed walls with domed ceilings, complete with earthy tones from walnut wood furniture and olive green accents.

Artemis and Apollo will showcase family-styled Greek classics from colourful mezze (with the likes of fava mash and taramasalata) to skewer-grilled chicken, pork souvlaki, Steki Tou Ilia lamb chops, as well as calamari and an array of seafood dishes. The taverna concept will be complete with an exclusively Greek wine list, showcasing grape varietals and labels curated for the concept alone, from mineral-rich whites from Santorini to Merlots from Macedonia and ouzo, the quintessentially Greek spirit best served with ice.

Artemis and Apollo is set to open September, 2018.
