Here are some of the best places to visit for a comforting hotpot meal, perfect for any occasion

Regardless of rainy days or reunion dinners, nothing sounds better than a warm and satisfying hotpot meal with friends and family. A popular staple in many Asian households, hotpot offers a unique sense of communion and intimacy between loved ones.

That said, we Singaporeans love an intimate hotpot session and it's no wonder the island is filled with a range of hot pot restaurants, ranging from Japanese ones to Chongqing-style ones.

Whether you are looking to dunk your favourite hotpot ingredients in a spicy laksa broth or looking for a unique Japanese hotpot experience, here are some of the best restaurants that are worth a visit.

1. Fufu Pot

If you’re not a fan of sharing food, you’ll love Fufu Pot’s single-pot concept. Instead of gathering around one big pot, you’ll get to dunk your favourite meats in your own individual boiler. Eight classic and unique broths are available. Try its signature collagen soup made from pork bone broth, goji berries and red dates; or dunk your meats into its bold and spicy stinky tofu broth which comprises homemade stinky tofu boiled in fresh pork bone soup with marinated minced meat. An extensive selection of a la carte dishes awaits but if you can’t decide, go for one of its theme supplements instead. The Singaporean is a crowd favourite, featuring prawn paste with tobiko, pork belly shabu, quail egg, pork ball, fishball with roe and fried beancurd roll. Plant-based options are available too.
