The bakery chain's fifth location opens alongside the introduction of an in-house roasted coffee brand

After a months-long build-out, Bakehouse is set to unveil its fifth bakery opposite Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, bringing hand-roasted delicacies and new coffee blend to one of Hong Kong’s busiest shopping districts.

The Causeway Bay branch will serve a range of artisanal breads and baked goods, including the signature sourdough tart, European sourdough, and a variety of viennoiseries such as pretzel croissant twist, apple crumble danish, parmesan cheese danish and more. Bakehouse's entire range of bread and pastries is freshly made and baked on site every day. In addition, the new store will also launch a merchandise collection exclusive to this location.

Bakehouse's fifth store opening also coincides with the launch of its house roasted coffee bean brand, Brew. The result of a partnership with Patrik Rolf, the founder of cult Copenhagen coffee brand April Coffee, the exclusive coffee bean recipe involves the on-site roasting of beans at the Causeway Bay store with a top-of-the-range Giesen W6A coffee roaster. Brew coffee beans will be used in all Bakehouse locations going forward.

"Coffee and bread are a great pairing, so we wanted to put the same care and passion we give to creating our bread when making coffee," says founder Grégoire Michaud.

Bakehouse established its first store in Wan Chai in 2018, and has since opened more stores in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and, most recently, Stanley.
