Whether filled with vegetables, meat or seafood, this popular tart is a comfort food loved by many
Quiche is probably one of the most well-loved pastries in the world. A soft pastry crust filled with milk, eggs or cream, then flavoured with vegetables, meat or seafood for distinction. Its most popular variant is quiche Lorraine, which contains bacon.
While most people associate this dish with the French, quiche originated from the German kingdom of Lothringen, or Lorraine. Its name comes from the German word, ‘kuchen’, which means ‘cake’. Lorraine was then conquered by the French who refined and popularised the dish.
Today, it is a popular treat because of its versatility. Like pies, it can come with a variety of fillings.
Here are six places in the Klang Valley where you can get a satisfying fix of quiche.
