Kubis & Kale
Relish in an abundance of greens at Kubis & Kale, which caters to a current fad—a love of Hawaiian poke bowls. The new eatery promotes and celebrates healthier lifestyles with a curated menu of simple, healthy and seasonal poke bowls that are ideal for pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans. Protein components include chargrilled tofu adobo, maple tofu, and faux crab cakes, and each bowl can be customised with a variety of toppings, sides, and vegan sauces such as the pesto vinaigrette, green apple hot sauce, et cetera.

Proving that dairy isn't requisite for delicious desserts, Kind Kones champions cashew, coconut, pistachio and other nut milks in their 'nice creams'. Our go-to is the charcoal vanilla containing cashew milk, coconut milk, raw cane sugar, Japanese bamboo charcoal and vanilla. Another flavour that has stolen our hearts is the black forest made out of coconut milk, cashew milk, almond milk, vanilla, brownie chunks, cherry compote and raw cane sugar. Kind Kones' nice cream parlours are laid-back and aesthetically pleasing; the Bangsar outlet even has a play area for little ones.
Meaning 'living room' in Spanish but also an acronym for slavar a los animales (save the animals), Sala serves vegan Mexican and Malaysian dishes that are low in calories and cholesterol but high in protein. The star of the menu is the mushroom asada burrito that's packed with mushroom asada, cilantro lime brown rice, black beans, pico de gallo, coleslaw, lettuce, vegan nacho cheese and roasted tomato chipotle salsa. Also try the Chimichanga, which can be air-fried or deep-fried; the hearty burrito is topped with vegan sour cream and a lime wedge for zest.

A homely café that combines comfort food with a cosy ambiance, RGB is where one can borrow a book, sip on artisan coffee, and eat clean. Serving Asian and Western dishes with gluten-free, organic, vegan and vegetarian option, the café is a great place to hang out with friends and family. Dishes that hit the spot for us include the basil olive oil fried rice with RGB tempe, the vegan cheese pizza, and the hempburger.
