The Cakery's Vegan Christmas Afternoon Tea

What: As part of their new Christmas offerings, The Cakery is kickstarting the holiday season early with its vegan afternoon tea set. Guests can indulge in the bakery’s savoury bites such as Impossible meatball with bell pepper puree, and vegan chickpea sandwich with homemade mayonnaise. Festive sweet treats including Snowman chocolates and Santa chocolates are made with vegan chocolate and apple crumble cake, while passion fruit tart, miniature vegan cupcakes, and coconut-enriched Chocolate Dreamers cakes are all prepared with vegan ingredients. The vegan afternoon tea is complete with scones made with golden flax seed meal and organic cane sugar.

When: November 13 to December 31, 2020

Price: The afternoon tea is priced at HK$598 per set, available for both dine-in and takeaway.

A Journey To Venus Afternoon Tea At Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong

What: To celebrate K.S. Sze & Sons’ 57 years of residence at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, the hotel has launched a unique space-themed afternoon tea set in honour of founder Dr. Nien Dak Sze, who is known for his expertise in fine jewellery as well as his passion for the Earth and planetary sciences. The hotel’s executive pastry chef Christophe Sapy created the limited edition Journey to Venus afternoon tea set, where sweet and savoury tea treats are housed within an orb. Highlights of the tea set include pastries and sandwiches prepared with foie gras mousse, Parma ham and caviar, as well as sweet desserts such as the Galaxy Opera cake; Venus milk ganache with mandarin orange; silver macaron with chestnut and vanilla; and financier with coffee and hazelnuts. The afternoon tea is complete with freshly baked scones paired with the hotel’s signature rose petal jam and clotted cream. The exclusive afternoon tea set is limited to 20 sets per day.

When: From now until November 30, 2020.

Price: HK$888 per set for two persons, or HK$1,288 per set including two glasses of Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial or Imperial Rose NV. Each guest will receive a HK$2,000 voucher to spend at the K.S. Sze & Sons jewellery boutique for every tea set purchased.

Love In A Winter Garden Afternoon Tea At Kerry Hotel

What: Kerry Hotel is partnering up with Atelier Cologne for a six-week afternoon tea affair. The Love In A Winter Garden afternoon tea set is inspired by the perfumery’s latest Joie de Vivre collection, where base ingredients of citrus fruits are featured in the tea set’s exclusive treats such as snow crab and lobster cocktail; brie de meaux and black truffle croque monsieur; roasted duck pancetta and chestnut ‘en croute’; together with sweets such as oolong mushroom and winter spices yule logs. Guests who share their experience on their Instagram channels can also receive a complimentary bespoke oolong tea-based mocktail from the hotel.

The Murray’s Garden Lounge x Mother Pearl Afternoon Tea

What: The Murray’s Garden Lounge is collaborating with newly-opened plant-based tea shop Mother Pearl for a ‘Boba and More Gems’ afternoon tea set featuring savoury treats such as smoked aubergine sandwich roll and Over The Rainbow, where masala-seasoned lobster salad is topped with turmeric, cashew yoghurt and charcoal tapioca. Sweet treats include the hotel’s triple chocolate cookie; black sesame and matcha verrine; and strawberry-sake lingot, a lingot-shaped dessert where a strawberry flavoured cream enrobes a thin layer of sponge cake as the filling. Guests can select their beverage of choice from three of Mother Pearl’s signature drink offerings, from PO Mylk Tea to Pot Of Gold or Coconut Matcha.

W Hotel x M.A.C. Glittery Flare Afternoon Tea Set

What: Inspired by M.A.C.’s Frosted Firework holiday collection, W Hong Kong’s Woobar has launched a brand-new afternoon tea set with treats designed by Rafa Gil, the hotel’s newly-appointed executive chef (and star of Netflix’s The Final Table) in collaboration with Baptiste Villefranque, W Hong Kong’s executive pastry chef. Savoury highlights include a seafood trio pairing crabmeat with mango; smoked salmon roulade with melon; and lobster with crab roe and oyster leaf. The pastel-themed sweet selection also features desserts such as champagne-strawberry kiss (champagne mousse with strawberry jelly); Valrhona Caraibe 66% dark chocolate mousse with praline and vanilla whipped cream; and pink guava crunch dessert that features alternating layers of crunchy silver candies and smooth pink guava puree. With each purchase of the collaboration afternoon tea set, guests can receive a 30-minute make-up and touch-up service at the M.A.C. Elements store, as well as complimentary gift wrapping service for holiday kits and hero product samples.
