It's been a frenetic month for Malaysia Tatler as our team sees to it that every single aspect of #MyTatlerBall2019 is smooth sailing. Below is a behind-the-scenes peek at the statistics of catering to some 300 guests. *Numbers are an approximate and may deviate on the day itself

Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, which will host our iconic ball for the second year in a row, will serve two types of canapés at the cocktail reception that precedes the main event. According to Chef Junious Dickerson's calculations, if each guest is to graze on 3-4 bites each, a total of 1,008 hors d'oeuvre must be prepared beforehand.

Beef Or Fish, Sir/Madam?

Our guests have spoken and here are their orders: 192 pax chose the Fillet of Beef Tenderloin for their main course; the Cod Fish Viennese comes in close at 124 plates. Some 20 guests opted in for the vegetarian menu, which is no less outstanding—the Sous Vide of Cauliflower served with Espelette pepper puree and tempura florets gets a kiss of saffron, the most expensive spice in the world.

A reminder to everyone to keep a close eye on their personal belongings (especially after having had one too many drinks). We expected a higher figure, but the Four Seasons Hotel reports that just 1 item of apparel (usually a dinner jacket) is left behind in the grand ballroom after most events. Worst comes to worst, ring up the lost and found department the morning after.

See you this Friday!
