Restaurant
Chachawan
This little spot on Hollywood Road remains one of the better options for a fun take on Northern Thai cooking
Tatler Says
Something of a Sheung Wan stalwart, Chachawan reopened its doors in late 2020, debuting a new look and new dishes, though customers will be happy to note that old favourites remain. Quirky wallpaper, upcycled wooden stools and rustic décor make for a relaxed dining area, while the menu offers a range of traditional northern Thai dishes, as well as more creative approaches to the cuisine. Cocktails are infused with classic Thai ingredients and pair perfectly with the meal, taking the edge off spicier dishes.
Signature Dishes
- Gai yang—24h marinated grilled chicken
- Pla phao glua—salt crusted whole seabass
- Moo manaw—spicy pork with lime salad
Tatler Tip
The restaurant doesn’t accept reservations, but if you can afford to wait, put your name down for a seat by the open kitchen.
