Casa Cucina & Bar

Italian   |   Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong

Priding itself as a vibrant neighbourhood joint that serves up Venetian-inspired cicchetti and cocktails, Casa Cucina & Bar relocated to Causeway Bay from its original Sai Ying Pun location in 2024. The menu includes crowd favourites like octopus carpaccio and burrata with peaches, a variety of pastas and desserts like panna cotta. Signature cocktails include the coconut negroni—and of course, it wouldn't be an Italian spot without a good old aperol spritz.

Casa Cucina & Bar might not have much ambition in becoming anything beyond a neighbourhood bistro, but it nails what it sets out to do admirably. The interiors—split across three levels and a double-height atrium—were conceived by ex-Soho House designer Ketty Shan for dramatic effect while remaining homey and serene throughout the day. Chef-owner Anthony Cheung, formerly of Amber, clearly relishes in creating approachable Venetian cicchetti and pastas, and it’s easy to imagine settling on your personal favourites and ordering them on each subsequent visit without ever tiring of them. Don’t miss the oxtail tortellini in broth, cod acqua pazza, and the delightful tofu panna cotta.

Tatler Tip

The drinks menu features a respectable selection of cocktails—lovers of savoury libations will appreciate the Bloody Mary Martini using clarified tomato juice.
