Cantina
Cantina offers modern, hearty Italian fare, with dishes that are made for sharing—think Cavatelli with braised pork ribs, beef and fennel sausage ragu, breaded veal cutlet and spaghettoni with red prawn and burrata.
Cantina offers modern, hearty Italian fare on the top floor of Tai Kwun, in a space that used to be the Police Officers’ Mess during the colonial era. Its interiors speak to the building’s history while also finding inspiration from southern Europe. Dishes here are made for sharing, from an appetiser of burrata, seared peach and Culatello di Zibello ham, to squid ink spaghetti with cuttlefish and sea urchin—both solid picks. Meanwhile, the salt-baked Mediterranean sea bass brings the wow factor in its presentation. Save space for the tiramisu, which is assembled tableside.
Tatler Tip
Cantina neighbours its Aqua Group sister restaurants The Chinese Library and The Dispensary, each of which offers food and cocktails in equally elegant settings.
