Café Kool

Café Kool at the Kowloon Shangri-La remains a popular buffet hotspot, thanks to the dizzying array of cuisines available
One of the most popular brunch and dinner spots for buffet in Tsim Sha Tsui East, largely because of its famous fresh seafood station (think king crab, lobster, shrimp cocktails and scallop sashimi), an excellent Indian station with fragrant curries and a plethora of angry achaar pickles, a Malaysian satay station, and made-to-order pasta and Asian noodle bars – look out for laksa days. Visiting chefs also showcase regional cuisines such as Sichuan or Taiwanese at regular rotating promotions. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the decadent dessert bar, but the highlight from the à la carte must be the apple-walnut strudel with ice cream – sinfully sweet and tangy fruit encased in a golden-brown pastry. Marble tabletops and wooden ceilings mean that it gets rather noisy at peak hours and weekends. Servers are attentive and amiable, which is rather impressive considering the huge crowds they have to handle.
