This self-described 'house of vermouth' features cocktails heavy on fortified wines and a menu of Aegean flavours

Gough Street is known for its funky venues, and this restaurant delivers: the design puts you in mind of a Manhattan brasserie, while the food takes you on a journey through the Med. While we would have liked larger portions when it came to the sharing platters, the ingredients shine in whatever you order: we particularly enjoyed the sustainable bluefin tuna cornetto, Sagabuta pork loin with phenomenally moreish chimichurri, and meltingly tender salt-baked seabass with a vermouth sauce that highlights the wine’s versatility. Go with a gang so that you can sample more dishes—and more vermouths.

Signature Dishes

  • Spicy salmon cornetto
  • Polmard beef tartare
  • Whole yellow chicken with vermouth sauce

Tatler Tip

Ask for Luca: if you’re lucky, the co-founder will be around to guide you on your vermouth voyage.
