Named for a trio of themes (bar, coffee, dessert) that collectively embody the house’s specialty, Barcode brings a slice of Shoreditch to Hong Kong with its eclectic mixture of cakes, eggy sandos, and coffee made fresh daily. The inner sanctum is a conspicuously inconspicuous affair behind a patch of wall that adjoins the venue’s coffee counter and daytime dining areas. Beyond the veil, the ‘hidden’ bar program revolves in a big way around dessert and cocktails—making Barcode the ideal alternative to a slice of post-dinner pudding.
