At many points over the past two years, the pandemic has felt never-ending—none more so than the bar industry, which has endured months of closures, hundreds of closures, and thousands of job losses. 

With the passing of the fifth wave and restrictions tentatively set to ease in a staged return to normality, there's no better time to look back, take stock, and launch the Readers' Choice survey for our first standalone Tatler Dining Bar Awards, due to be announced this summer.

Each year, we seek to recognise the efforts of those in F&B through our annual Best Restaurants guide and Tatler Dining Awards. In the same vein, the Bar Awards were conceived to recognise the depth and breadth of Hong Kong's bar scene, perhaps dimmed somewhat by unrelenting social distancing restrictions, but deserving of its own awards programme nevertheless as the industry begins its road to recovery.

Much like our Best of the Year Awards, every category for the Bar Awards has a readers' choice vote. The winners of each category will be chosen through a combination of readers' votes, as well as those of our panel of experts and industry veterans.

We also want to hear about anything else happening on the dining scene that has impressed, which is why we’ve included an extra section for voters to let us know their thoughts. 

The survey closes on 28 April 2022 and the final results of the survey will be announced at our live event in summer 2022—so start spreading the word.
