Auberge Tokito

Tokyo, Japan

Auberge is nestled within a Japanese garden and offers a modern kaiseki cuisine crafted by internationally experienced chefs

Auberge Tokito was opened by former staff from the renowned Kyoto Kitcho Arashiyama. Keeping the tradition of exquisite kaiseki cuisine alive, the restaurant serves an innovative, seasonal tasting menu in a beautiful space surrounded by a Japanese garden. The restaurant is headed by executive chef Yoshinori Ishii, who was formerly at the helm of London’s esteemed Japanese restaurant, Umu. Functioning as a ryotei—a traditional Japanese restaurant that serves high-end cuisine in private tatami rooms—Auberge Tokito is a hotel as well as a restaurant, boasting just four rooms, each with a private, in-room onsen. Though meals can be served in those rooms, try to get a seat at the restaurant counter, where diners can enjoy a view of the chefs in action—priority is given to guests staying overnight.

Tatler Tip

Opt for a counter seat at Auberge Tokito to enjoy a view of the chefs in action.
