High above Victoria Harbour, Above & Beyond continues to present refined Cantonese cooking in a setting that pairs classic technique with one of the city’s most striking views

Perched atop Hotel Icon in Tsim Sha Tsui, Above & Beyond offers a refreshing take on the classic hotel Cantonese restaurant. The dining room, designed by Sir Terence Conran, wraps diners in floor-to-ceiling windows, framing sweeping views of Victoria Harbour that shift beautifully from daylight to evening. The kitchen focuses on the fundamentals of Cantonese cuisine: carefully sourced ingredients, precise technique and a light touch that allows flavours to remain clear and balanced. The menu moves comfortably between delicate dim sum, pristine seafood and traditional Hong Kong-style barbecue, all executed with quiet confidence. A highlight remains the restaurant’s famed crispy skin chicken, a dish so carefully prepared that the team once released a video revealing the painstaking process behind its burnished skin and succulent meat. It is a reminder that, even in Cantonese cooking, mastery often lies in the smallest details.

Tatler Tip
