The Andaman Langkawi, being set in one of the most magnificent seacoasts in Malaysia, has long taken upon itself to do what it can to conserve the marine life of its waters.
As part of its continuous efforts to revive its surrounding coral reefs, it is proud to announce the launch of its new Marine Life Laboratory, a multi-purpose indoor space that functions as a research lab for marine science and biology students seeking to understand the ocean and its inhabitants better.
The new laboratory, which is launched as part of the resort’s Coral Conservation programme founded in 2010, covers over 1,200 square feet and is intended to initiate environmental practices that are engaging and educational for both the resort’s in-house guests and local community.

The laboratory also features a welcoming cushioned seating area, presenting relaxed seating for guests during presentations and talks. All activities taking place in the laboratory will also be supervised by the resort’s Head of Marine Department, Dr Gerry Goeden.
Driven by the key inspiration of education, children and adults alike will be allowed the opportunity to learn, discover and explore more of the important role of corals in the marine ecosystem at the laboratory.
All monies raised from the use of the laboratory will also go to fund the continuing research and development in conserving the precious coral life of Langkawi.
