With a production run of 1,950 pieces worldwide, each of the new aluminium cases features a unique serial number which makes it one of a kind

The Rimowa Vintage 1950 series

Cologne-based luggage manufacturer Rimowa has made it possible to relive the Fabulous 50’s by rolling out a limited-edition reproduction of the original aluminium corrugated case it made popular in the 1950s.

The aluminium case quickly rose to become the preferred luggage of travelling society and Rimowa hopes to excite customers all over again with this newly released limited edition with only 1950 pieces in production.

An ode to the year it was first released, the bag's retro-style lock features a running serial number, making each of the 1,950 pieces one of a kind. The cases are made of aircraft aluminium (duraluminium) with a deep blue moiré interior, while handles are carved from a single block of aluminium, a special and painstaking construction process.

As a finishing touch, the inspiration behind Rimowa's signature grooves, a JU52 aircraft, is debossed on the rivets.

Rimowa Vintage 1950 is available in five luggage sizes, priced from $7,850 to $8,800. Now available exclusively at Mandarin Gallery #01-02 and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Canal Level, B2-236
