Six Senses’ first foray into India is in the stunningly diverse region of Rajasthan. Built in the 14th century, the fort was once owned by Rajasthan’s royalty and its new incarnation as a luxe hotel is a result of careful restoration. Expect old-world elegance and modern-day relaxation, including an extensive menu of Ayurveda, meditation and wellness programmes in the spa. The hotel will showcase the fort’s historical character via traditional gardens and water features; the rich culture of the area will also be depicted through Shekhavati art.

Tatler Tip: Make a trip to the nearby Ranthambhore National Park for tiger-spotting (maximise your chances of a sighting by leaving bright and early). If you're more of an urbanite, Six Senses will also open its first city hotel in Singapore this year.

Sleek and contemporary, Como Uma Canggu is the brand's third resort in Bali, this time located in Echo Beach, on the island's south coast. The secluded resort has 53 rooms and suites, 66 private apartments, and 12 penthouses with private pools; accommodation comes with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for stunning views of Bali’s natural beauty. Relaxation aside, find expert training from luxury surf pioneers Tropicsurf, and the much-awaited Como Beach Club—a thoroughly modern take on a sophisticated surf shack.

Tatler Tip: Wellness is a must at any Como property, so don’t miss the spa's Balinese spice body mask, which uses traditional medicine to relieve tired muscles and fill your body with deep warmth. It comes with an Indonesian massage post-treatment.

Edition is opening a record number of hotels this year, in locations including Shanghai, Barcelona, Bangkok, Bodrum, Abu Dhabi and West Hollywood.

Tatler Tip: Although the hotel has many views onto Times Square, we recommend surveying the famous landmark from the hotel’s 5,800 square foot beer garden. What better excuse for a nightcap or two?

A former historic royal settlement of Laos, Luang Prabang is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 22 luxury tents and villas hidden in lush green jungle, and a flowing waterfall leads on to a river that meanders through the site. The décor takes its cue from the best of French colonial design and traditional Lao culture; the tented villas exude an exotic, ‘explorer’ vibe, whilst the interiors are inspired by ancient temples. French-Lao fusion continues in the hotel’s dining options, where French and Laotian cuisine are both available.

Tatler Tip: Bag one of the five 100 sqm luxury tents, which feature wrap-around decks and a private dining area.

The first US development by Brazil’s leading hotelier, Fasano Miami Beach will be a destination in its own right. The three-acre oceanfront complex will include the hotel, residences, bars and fine dining restaurants, all executed in Fasano’s signature classic-meets-contemporary style. The centerpiece of the development is a lagoon-style pool, which at over 9,500 square feet in area and 250 feet in length will be the largest oceanfront swimming pool in South Beach. Expect the best of Miami lifestyle in an exclusive, secluded location.

Tatler Tip: Fasano is a mere one minute walk away from the Bass Museum of Art, while internationally-renowned art fair Art Basel Miami (held annually on the second week of December) is held just two blocks from the hotel.

An infinity pool on level 40 affords breathtaking views of the city below. Other exclusive amenities include VIP gaming and fine dining options offering a range of international cuisines.

A rare resort experience—only the fourth of its kind in the world—Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is located on the coast of San José del Cabo, a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. Set between sea and desert, the name ‘Zadún’ is inspired by the natural landscape and its sloping dunes, and has been designed so that the resort’s suites and villas rise harmoniously from the desert vista. The oceanfront resort also features not one, but two championship golf courses.

Tatler Tip: Take time to explore the desert botanical park, which showcases the area’s unique flora and attracts local wildlife such as hummingbirds and butterflies.
