The award-winning Indian actress and producer is the latest celebrity fan of Mandarin Oriental's global campaign

With over 70 million Instagram followers and amongst the top five most followed celebrities in India, Alia Bhatt rose to fame for her roles in Hindi and Telegu films like Dear Zindagi, Gully Boy, RRR and Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva, which took the highest ever opening for a non-holiday release in India.

Bhatt’s 2022 film Darlings, in which she plays the lead, also marks her debut as a producer, released as a Netflix original and making it to the second most-watched non-English show on Netflix worldwide within two weeks of its release.

The 29 year-old actress who is of Indian and German heritage became the first Bollywood star to be featured in Mandarin Oriental's global campaign, 'I’m a Fan', joining the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Maggie Cheung, Stanley Tucci, Dev Patel, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, Sa Ding Ding, and more.

In keeping with tradition, the Mandarin Oriental Group donates to the celebrity fan's choice of charity. Bhatt's chosen charity is Salaam Bombay Foundation, a humanitarian organisation for adolescents.

Besides her successful film career, Bhatt also created her own line of eco-conscious clothing for children called Ed-a-Mamma, which has also grown to become one of the most popular children's clothing brands in India in just two years. In 2017, Bhatt was featured in Forbes' 30 under 30 Asia list and recently recognised at the 2022 TIME 100 Impact Awards.
