Already planning your trip to Bintan and Batam when the safe travel corridor opens up? Here are the best luxury hotels you should book

This week, Indonesia announced that it would be opening a safe travel corridor to allow Singapore residents to travel into Batam and Bintan.

This means that Singapore residents need only be vaccinated, have a negative PCR test and insurance worth SG$30,000 before they can resume weekend or day trips into their favourite islands.

While Indonesia has yet to announce when exactly this safe travel corridor will open, we do know that it will be happening soon.

This is more so after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesian President Joko Widodo held a Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat this week and discussed expediting arrangements for a travel bubble with Batam and Bintan.

Already, Singapore residents are making enquiries to ferry operators, so if you can’t wait to get relaxing, we list out the top five luxury hotels that you should book during your trip to either Batam or Bintan.

Bintan

The Sanchaya

If it’s a good enough spot for Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesian President Joko Widodo to hold their Singapore-Indonesia Leaders Retreat, you know that it has to be good.

The Sanchaya has been in the news recently because it was, on January 25, the site where PM Lee and President Widodo signed agreements related to flight information regions, defence cooperation, the extradition of fugitives and more.

However, The Sanchaya has a lot more than just star-quality to its name. As a private beachfront estate, The Sanchaya boasts 29 villas and suites, unparalleled views of the ocean, a world-class spa and extensive dining menus.

It’s really the most luxurious place for your short getaway.
