A K-Pop arena—dubbed Seoul Arena—is set to open in Seoul in 2025

K-pop fans will soon have a place of worship, as South Korean internet company Kakao and the Seoul Metropolitan Government have announced plans to construct a new arena dedicated to K-Pop, which is set to open in October 2025.

Named Seoul Arena, the K-Pop Mecca will reportedly house 19,000 seats, with a maximum capacity of 28,000 including standing room. The blueprint also features a medium-sized venue that seats 7,000, as well as a movie theatre and other commercial facilities.

The venue is also said to include augmented reality technology for digitally enhanced concert experiences—because what's a K-Pop concert if it isn't a flashy and over-the-top assault on the senses?

A ground breaking ceremony will take place this coming June at the site in the Chang-dong, Dobong-gu, after the final implementation plans are approved. How you like that?
