You can collect your masks from any collection point from August 26 to September 26 using your SP residential bill or account number

With four mask collections behind us already, you may not realise that Temasek Foundation is currently in the middle of its fifth collection exercise. In this round, it has been distributing 50 medical-grade surgical masks and 25 N95 respirator masks to each household since August 26.

This is the first time that Temasek Foundation has given out medical-grade disposable masks and they are doing so because of the new and more infectious Covid-19 variants that have begun to surface.

If you have yet to collect your masks, here is how you can do it.

Currently, Temasek Foundation has over 130 collection points where individuals can go to collect their free masks. 15 of these are Capitaland malls of which 11 have digital queue systems so you can virtually join the queue and save time while keeping safe.

You simply need to enter your mobile number at this website and you will receive a text when it is your turn to collect your masks at the customer service counters of the malls from 11 am to 8 pm daily.

Other than the malls, you can also collect your masks at selected Sheng Siong, Prime, Cold Storage and Giant supermarkets as well as all nine FairPrice Xtra outlets and even Jewel Changi Airport’s concierge counter on Level 1.

You can check where your nearest collection point is as well as stock levels and collection hours here.

No matter where you collect your masks though, you will need to remember to bring your SP residential bill or account number in order to collect your masks. You can bring a physical or virtual copy.

You will also need to bring your own bags to bring the boxes home as bags will not be provided.

If you are helping another household to collect their masks, you can provide their SP residential bills or their account numbers.

These masks are important as Singapore moves forward in its attempt to made Covid-19 endemic primarily because they can better help to prevent the spread of the virus.

In a statement, Temasek Foundation said: “These high-quality masks help suppress infection rates by reducing the level of viral loads being emitted or breathed in.”

Both the surgical and N95 masks have a 95 per cent particle filtration efficiency or better which means they can filter out at least 95 per cent of particles between 0.1 and 0.3 microns in size.

Surgical masks should be worn if you are visiting the doctor for flu-like symptoms or as an extra layer of protection over a reusable mask.

N95 masks on the other hand are best worn if you have tested positive for Covid-19 using an antigen rapid test (ART) self-test kit and are going to the doctor to have your result confirmed with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

The collection period for the masks will end on September 26 so make sure you get your masks before then.
