Calling all peripatetic oenophiles: the newly established WS New York is the drinking den of your dreams. Located next to the Vessel at Hudson Yards, the private members club has a 15,000-bottle wine list assembled by Master Sommelier Michael Engelmann and his team. The selections focus heavily on Californian wines—with gems like the 1986 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill Cabernet Sauvignon—as well as the Burgundy region, “with over 40 different references from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti,” says Engelmann.

Prior Travel, the members’ club for discerning jetsetters, has unveiled its 2020 event programme—and we can’t wait to join the High Art and Highland Culture experience in September. The trip is centred around the Braemar Gathering, the annual Highland games religiously attended by the Royal Family. After rubbing elbows with royalty, guests will stay at The Fife Arms—a charming hotel lovingly restored by art power couple Manuela and Iwan Wirth.

3. Travel in style

Whether you’re off skiing in Megève or sailing through the Arctic Circle, timeless pieces by Loro Piana allow you to brave cold climes in style. Made for the modern traveller, the fabrics are enhanced by the brand’s Storm System treatment, which adds water- and wind-resistance without compromising the soft warmth of cashmere. Our picks? The voluminous coats in vibrant hues and the multicoloured scarves that will make any classic coat pop.

The ultra-luxury One & Only Resorts brand makes its debut in Asia on Malaysia’s pristine Desaru Coast. Known as the ‘village of palms,’ Desaru Coast’s lush forest and untouched shoreline form the ideal foil for One & Only’s self-contained suites, which feature expansive indoor and outdoor spaces, plunge pools, opulent bathrooms and, most importantly, utmost privacy. Design studio Kerry Hill Architects took inspiration from traditional Kampung architecture to create serene, streamlined spaces with a strong sense of place.

A highlight is the prestigious Villa One: a two-storey beachfront home spanning 16,000sqft complete with four spacious bedrooms and a 27-metre-long swimming pool. Those who wish to call this home can also do so—One & Only Desaru Coast has 50 private homes for sale and for rent.

Having opened its doors in January, the boutique brand’s second property in the City of Lights is already a favourite of creatives. Located in the vibrant 15th arrondisement, the hotel’s quirky interiors are courtesy of emerging French designers Dion & Arles.
