The first Studio Ghibli theme park in the world is set to open its gates on November 1, 2022, at the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute, Japan. The Studio earlier announced that its park will be divided into five areas—Hill of Youth, Ghibli’s Large Warehouse, Mononoke’s Village, Valley of Witches, and Dondoko Forest, which will all blend seamlessly with the existing nature park.
Below are some of the first few photos released by the park:
In the park are rides but the creators made it clear that massive rollercoasters will be avoided in favour of nature trails. According to reports, Japanese animator and director Hayao Miyazaki also insisted that no trees be cut down in the formation of the park.
Ghibli Park will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays and will open one hour earlier at 9:00 am on weekends and holidays. The park will be closed every Tuesday.
