Ultra luxurious resort St Regis has opened its first doors in Malaysia in none other than the scenic island of Langkawi.

The arrival of the iconic luxury brand at the UNESCO First World Geopark also makes it the first luxury resort to set foot on the island in a decade. Worldwide, it is the 37th address.

A joint venture between Rajawali Group and the Government of Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance, the resort is owned by Integrated Nautical Resort Sdn Bhd that chose Langkawi specifically for its 99-island archipelago. It hopes to evoke the feel of a natural paradise for its guests, being fringed by a 600-metre white sand beach that greets emerald green waters opening up to the Andaman Sea.

On the room-front, the St Regis Langkawi is the first all-suite luxury resort in the region, boasting 85 appointed suites and 4 private over-water villas, each of which offers unobstructed views of the sea.

Six distinct restaurants and bar venues will also take up residence at the resort, among them Kayuputi that serves Asian-inspired haute cuisine, L’Orangerie that offers modern fusion French and the Gourmand Deli that specialises in fresh, home-made bread and pastries. Guests looking for a drink will delight in the St Regis Bar that is the premiere destination for cocktails and canapés galore.

Other facilities at the resort include a spa, a salon, an infinity swimming pool, a natural-salt water swimmable lagoon, an athletics club, a private events space, an outdoor wedding pavilion, six meeting venues and more.
