Speaking of long journeys, the A350-1000 is the first Cathay Pacific aircraft to fly 4 times a week to the US capital of Washington DC, the longest route on the airline’s network to date.

The A350's impressive range and fuel efficiency have also opened up new routes from Hong Kong to destinations like Cape Town, Brussels, Dublin, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Tel Aviv with more destinations to come on that ever-expanding list!

3. Bigger and better

Able to carry 54 more passengers than its A350-900 predecessor, the new Airbus A350-1000 can accommodate a total of 334 passengers across its Business, Premium Economy and Economy class cabins.

As Cathay Pacific maintains its revered status as one of the world’s largest cargo airlines, its newest aircraft also holds its own when it comes to freight capacity.

4. Health first

The higher cabin pressure of the A350's supplies more oxygen to compensate for the high altitudes, lowering the effective cabin cruising altitude to 6,000ft, reducing problems like passenger fatigue and keeping the cabin environment as conducive as possible to their wellbeing.

Another advantage for light sleepers: the aircraft’s cabins are 50 per cent quieter in perceived levels of external noise.

5. Going green

The very first Airbus A350-1000 flew from Toulouse, France to Hong Kong on a unique blend of sustainable biofuel that’s known to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 per cent.

While the remaining 19 A350-1000 aircrafts will soon follow suit, Cathay Pacific passengers can look forward to benefitting from the fuel efficiency and environment-friendly travel experiences at the heart of Cathay Pacific’s pillar initiatives.
