As well as being a dreamy tropical escape, the luxurious resort located on Seminyak beach offers authentic cultural experiences outside of traditional hotel facilities; from releasing newly hatched baby sea turtles to receiving blessings at a Balinese temple, take a look at five unique experiences you can indulge in during your stay:

Turtle Sanctuary

Visit the turtle sanctuary and participate in releasing baby turtles into the sea. Every year between May and October, female Olive Ridley turtles—an endangered species—come ashore at night to lay their eggs.

The Oberoi, Bali safeguards the turtle eggs from predators, relocating the nests to a patch of sand within the hotel premises until they hatch. Witnessing the legacy of turtle conservation on the shores of  Seminyak beach is truly an unforgettable experience.

Sunset Blessing at Petitenget Temple

Only a short drive away from the hotel, enjoy a private blessing ceremony with the temple priest at Petitenget Temple. Founded in the 15th century, Petitenget (meaning "sacred box") Temple carries an interesting and illustrious history.

Legend has it, a travelling priest carrying a sacred chest urged the construction of this shrine to ward off evil spirits. You can discover the full story behind the creation of the temple by joining a fascinating tour with a local expert.

Full Moon Celebration

Purnama, or full moon, is a special day in Balinese culture. On this day, you can dress in traditional sarongs and join the full moon ceremony with fellow worshippers at the Hindu temple on hotel grounds. During the ceremony, you will receive a traditional Sanskrit blessing for health and prosperity from a Pemangku (Hindu priest), accompanied by flower offerings.

The Amphitheatre

Dine with a difference at The Oberoi, Bali's natural stone amphitheatre, the only venue on hotel grounds where both guests and the public can experience traditional Balinese dance performances. Designed in the style of a traditional Balinese palace arena, the amphitheatre features a stone bridge and seating area for al fresco dining.

Renewal of Vows

Reignite your love as you renew your vows on the sands of Seminyak beach surrounded by fifteen acres tropical garden, or in an intimate ceremony by the poolside of your private villa. In this romantic ceremony, you and your significant other will exchange marriage vows in an authentic Balinese Hindu ceremony led by a Pemangku (Balinese Hindu priest), dressed in traditional Balinese wedding attire as you're led down a bridal path strewn with frangipani blossoms.
