小威廉絲（Serena Williams）日前接受外媒《Vogue》訪問表示，從來不想在網球和家庭之間做出選擇：「我不喜歡退休這個詞，也許更恰當的詞是進化，我正從網球轉向其他對我來說很重要的事情。」

2022年的9月3日，她在美網單打第3輪敗給澳洲女將湯賈諾維琪（Ajla Tomljanovic），正式結束她27年的網壇生涯。賽後她落淚致詞，不僅感謝球迷與家人一路上的支持，她也特別對姐姐大威廉斯表達感謝之意，她感性表示：「如果沒有大威廉絲，我不會是現在的小威廉絲。」

懷孕2個月打贏澳網公開賽

擁有23座大滿貫冠軍

小威廉絲（Serena Williams）戰力驚人，至今擁有23座大滿貫冠軍，是女子網壇公開賽以來最多冠軍的紀錄保持人。然而在公開賽時代之前，仍有一名選手瑪格麗特考特（Margaret Court）擁有24座大滿貫冠軍，小威廉絲屢次被問及會不會想要在職涯突破這項紀錄？小威廉絲也在訪談中表示：「如果我說不想，那是騙人的，但我一天天地越來越不把它放在心裡。想太多並沒有幫助。」

贏得28億台幣獎金遠勝其他女運動員

創辦風險投資公司 Serena Ventures

小威廉絲不僅比賽贏得驚人獎金，她很有生意頭腦，默默創業成立了風險投資公司 Serena Ventures，她也在報導中透露，這就是她接下來的生活重心：「九年前我開始投資，我真的愛上了早期階段，無論是前種子輪或種子輪投資，當你決定投資一個想法，這個想法當下已經變成了產品。」她曾經親手投資美國線上教育訂閱平臺Master Class，現在已經是市值超過百萬美元的16個小威廉絲投資的獨角獸公司之一。

全球收入最高第二名女運動員

根據《富比士》（Forbes）2022年一月公布的2021女性運動員收入排行榜，小威廉絲和大威廉絲分居全球收入最高女運動員的二、三名，第一名是日本的大坂直美，據報導大坂直美去年收入高達5730萬美元，約為新台幣15億8000萬元，其中大坂直美近半數是代言收入。
