There’s a Louis Vuitton trunk for almost everything, and that includes the Formula 1 trophy.

In partnership with the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), the French luxury fashion brand has crafted a trophy travel case for the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.

The bespoke trunk is adorned with a striking red-on-black monogram, which nods to the colours of Monaco flag as well as the tarmac black of the roads on Monaco’s iconic race tracks. The front of the trunk is also emblazoned with a large, striped “V” motif, symbolising victory.

The Formula 1 trophy trunk was handcrafted by three specialised artisans at Louis Vuitton’s atelier in Asnières, before being delivered to the French Riviera where it was presented to the winner of the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez.

This is the second year in the row that Louis Vuitton has created a trophy travel case for the motorsports event, which was established in 1929 and has since become the pinnacle of the Formula 1 race calendar.

“Victory travels in Louis Vuitton,” said Michael Burke, CEO and chairman of Louis Vuitton. “The trophy travel case will witness future victories and continue to carry legends!”

Last year, the trophy and case were awarded to Dutch driver Max Verstappen. The maison will continue to craft its one-of-a-kind trophy case for the years to come, as part of its partnership with ACM. It has previously had the honour of creating trophy trunks for other sporting events, including the NBA, FIFA and the world championship of the League of Legends video game.
