Made Indie Rock Mainstream
Cobain was the frontman of the grunge band, Nirvana, which was established in the 80s. It only took three years before the band had their big break with the release of the album, Nevermind which features the famous song, Smells Like Teen Spirit.
The album became the first alternative-rock album to become famous with a mainstream audience. Soon enough, the launch of Nevermind earned them the recognition they deserved worldwide.
