IFC mall is home to luxury shopping and some of the best dining in the city

The mall at the International Finance Centre—better known as IFC mall—has become a fixture along Hong Kong Island's waterfront since its opening in 2003. With over 200 luxury stores as well as plenty of F&B and entertainment options, there's definitely no shortage of things to do. What’s more, its spacious atrium is frequently booked for large-scale exhibitions by a variety of top tier brands.

Such luxurious offerings place this mall a cut above others such as The One, APM and Megabox, attracting a discerning, stylish clientele of wealthy local professionals and tourists alike. Close proximity to the Four Seasons Hong Kong, the neighbouring office buildings One and Two IFC, the Central Ferry Piers, and the rest of Central is icing on the cake.

IFC's Best Restaurants

There’s no shortage of restaurants to choose from at IFC, whether it’s Western or Asian fare you’re craving. The most exciting new addition to the mall set to open this autumn is London’s Duck & Waffle, so named for its signature dish of crispy duck leg confit with fried duck egg and waffles.

Contemporary Chinese restaurant SHÈ grants a modern spin to the best of traditional Chinese cuisine amidst stylish yet relaxing interiors featuring elegant wood set off with bright pinks, teals, and metallic accents. Choose among roast meat dishes, noodles, rice, or dim sum, with plenty of premium teas and creative cocktails to wash it all down.

Western restaurants to try include La Rambla and Le Salon De Thé de Joël Robuchon, which serve authentic Spanish cuisine amidst sleek surrounds and sandwiches, pastries, and other baked goods in a French tea salon setting respectively.

There’s also Dalloyau, an establishment that’s been serving the Palace of Versailles’ royal court since 1682, which offers Parisian coffee, sandwiches, and afternoon tea at its IFC bistro.

In the evening, Dear Lilly is also worth a visit for its delectable cocktails and Instagrammable interiors filled with romantic booths, a ceiling of flowers, and plenty of vintage French touches.

When it comes to Asian fare, Tim Ho Wan serves up dim sum favourites such as baked BBQ pork buns, siu mai, har gow and glutinous rice in a casual setting.

If it’s dessert you’re after, New York cake boutique Lady M made waves across the US and Asia for its delicate yet delicious mille-crepes cake, mille-feuille cakes in a variety of flavours, and other confections.

There are plenty of places to go for quick respites from shopping, too. Stop for a coffee at Fuel Espresso or % Arabica, which serve a variety of espresso-based drinks.
