Thus far, whenever the Duffer brothers introduce a new character in the show, we always seem to love them. There’s no doubt that we’ll get used to new faces—who are, no doubt, likeable—like the gang’s new high school pal and dungeon master Eddie Munsen (Joseph Quinn).

Of course, we also get to see our favourites together on screen, to catch up on what’s new about their lives since the Gates closed. This includes Robin (Maya Hawke) who has found a friend in Steve (Joe Keery) and will finally get to interact with other characters, the spunky Erica (Priah Ferguson) who’s all grown up now, Murray (Brett Gelman) who’ll be of assistance Joyce once more this season, and even Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine).

Lives were lost in the previous seasons, and it’s only fair for our beloved characters to grieve in their own way. It is painful to see Max (Sadie Sink) deal with her brother’s tragic death and Eleven missing Hopper.

We were led to believe that Hopper is dead after Joyce pulled the lever to close the Gate. But all we’ve seen was blinding light after an explosion, with Hopper nowhere to be found. The scene has inspired many to create their own theories. While others believe that Hopper is truly dead, some are hopeful that the chief of police somehow survived.

Sacrifices were made to close the Gate that led to the Upside Down. However, it appears the group will be dealing with something bigger and darker in the next few episodes who is called Vecna, a ghoulish lich so terrifying that it makes Demogorgon look weak.
We can only hope that Eleven gets her powers back as soon as possible before the undead devours everyone in Hawkins.
